I’m a queer pastor and faith community experimenter living and working in Tacoma, Washington. These days I am scheming and dreaming about a new faith community in Tacoma: one which will create space to deepen our connection to the Divine, while empowering us to resist oppression and build a community built on justice and love. About the title: Since interning for a summer with Christian Peacemaker Teams in Hebron back in 2008, I’ve been captivated by Jesus’ instructions to his disciples in Matt. 10:16. This is a messy world we live in, one that calls for more than just being nice or being right. I’m challenged by this call to be “wise as serpents and gentle as doves” - to be both political and principled, cunning and compassionate, strategic and sincere.
